Ron Crane Collaborates with Congressional Investigators on Biden’s Mental Health
Former White House Chief of Staff Ron Crane is currently engaging with Congressional investigators regarding the mental health of former President Joe Biden, lawmakers revealed on Thursday.
Having served during Biden’s first two years in office, Crane is meeting with staff from the House Oversight Committee as part of Speaker James Comer’s inquiry into potential signs of Biden’s cognitive decline while in office.
After the initial session, Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif) mentioned that Crane “answered all the questions” asked by the Republicans.
Khanna expressed his appreciation for Crane’s transparency, stating, “He answered everything comprehensively and was very supportive.” He added that Crane’s personal conversations with the president were also addressed in an appropriate manner.
Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz) commented on whether Crane could be relied upon during the questioning. He noted that, in his view, Crane was not evasive. Biggs remarked, “He approaches questions in a careful way, and he answers them as I anticipated.” His opinion seemed to reflect a level of trust in Crane’s responses.
During closed interviews, which often run for an hour each for both Democratic and Republican committee staff, the dialogue can stretch on as more questions arise.
Both lawmakers spoke to reporters after the GOP’s questioning concluded. Biggs acknowledged that Crane’s interview could, understandably, take several hours.
Speaker Comer’s investigation focuses on whether top aides in Biden’s administration may have covered up the president’s mental decline.
Biden recently asserted in an interview that he “made all the decisions,” further adding to the discussion surrounding his competency.
