Former U.S. Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn, a central figure in The BlazeNews’ ongoing investigation into the events of January 6, spoke at a news conference Tuesday outside the Manhattan courthouse where the controversial Stormy Daniels trial is being held, slamming former President Donald Trump as “the greatest threat to our democracy.”
Video Show Dan said:
For many of us, the fight didn’t end when we got home on the evening of January 6th. The fight continues to this day. What happened that day was an attempt to thwart and overturn an election. Donald Trump is today the greatest threat to our democracy and the safety of communities across the country. He has encouraged and continues to encourage political violence. We were called traitors just today. On January 6th, we were all called traitors just for doing our jobs. And yes, we defended Republicans and we defended Democrats as well. It’s not a matter of the narrative that we don’t agree with. Political violence is never acceptable… but we have a presidential candidate who defends it, encourages it, and supports it. We cannot tolerate that.
“The fact that Harry Dunn, Fanon and others are touring battleground states with Biden is just fodder for those of us who know what really happened on January 6th.”
“The American people need to wake up. This is not a drill,” Dunn said. The Associated Press reported..
“We can’t rely on these institutions to stop Donald Trump. We need us, the American people, to vote to defeat him once and for all,” the former officer, who was also recently defeated in a U.S. House of Representatives election, told The Associated Press.
At the press conference, left-wing actor Robert De Niro made some scathing anti-Trump remarks. De Niro called Dunn and former Capitol Police officer Michael Fanone “true heroes.” A nearby person called them “traitors” and said they “lied under oath.” De Niro, apparently not understanding what the person was talking about, was infuriated. De Niro finally admitted, “I don’t know. I don’t know what to do with you, my friend. I don’t know what to do with you.”
Blaze News investigative journalist Steve Baker has written several analyses refuting many of Dunn’s claims about January 6th, including “January 6th and the N-word, which didn’t exist,” “Harry Dunn’s explanation of January 6th makes no sense,” and “Why a powerful Veterans PAC endorsed Harry Dunn, the false ‘hero’ of January 6th.”
Baker responded to Tuesday’s press conference to The Blaze News:
The fact that Harry Dunn, Fanone and other officers are touring battleground states with Biden is just fodder for those of us who know what really happened on January 6th. When someone at a press conference with De Niro said “They lied under oath” and “They’re traitors,” De Niro responded “I don’t even know what to do with you,” but of course he doesn’t know that we’ve proven beyond a reasonable doubt, both in congressional testimony and in court testimony, that some of those officers lied under oath.
