Former Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen certainly looked to have red, glassy eyes following his DUI arrest early Sunday morning.

A mugshot of the NFL player, acquired by The California Post, displayed a somewhat dazed expression after he was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence in Indiana.

Allen was reportedly pulled over by officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department around 1 a.m., as they claimed his vehicle was parked in a no-parking area on an Indianapolis street.

During the traffic stop, authorities stated that Allen exhibited signs of impairment. He was subsequently arrested after further investigation into the situation.

According to jail records, the 34-year-old was charged with two misdemeanor offenses — one related to DWI/DUI/OWI-endangerment and another for DWI/DUI/OWI with an alcohol concentration exceeding 0.08 percent.

The IMPD, in its statement, emphasized, “An arrest and a charge are merely accusations. Allen should be considered innocent unless and until found guilty in court. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decision.”

Allen, who joined the Colts earlier this month after a notable season with the Chargers, participated in Indianapolis’ preseason finale against the Lions on Saturday, catching one pass for 24 yards.

The Colts responded to the situation on Sunday, indicating they were “aware of the incident involving Keenan Allen” and are currently gathering more details, but they have no further comments at this time.

Originally selected by the Chargers in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Allen is regarded as one of the franchise’s top players. He had considered retirement this offseason but ultimately decided to sign with the Colts on August 18.
