Dez Bryant Issues Warning to Jerry Jones Over Contract Dispute
Former Dallas Cowboys player Dez Bryant has shared a notice for team owner Jerry Jones amid ongoing contract negotiations involving Micah Parsons. The situation has become quite tense as both sides navigate this issue.
Jones mentioned past dealings with Bryant, specifically citing Bryant’s reluctance to work through an agent during contract discussions. In contrast, Parsons has expressed the desire to have his agent present when negotiating his deal.
Bryant addressed Jones directly on social media, stating, “Jerry Jones, I don’t think it’s wise to bring my name into this.” He seemed frustrated, hinting at a lot of unresolved issues he has kept quiet about. “If we’re going to talk, I’d prefer some transparency,” he suggested.
Jones, meanwhile, has reassured fans, encouraging them not to stress over Parsons’ contract situation. He elaborated on his concerns, suggesting that agents are often absent when problems arise. He recalled his previous interactions with Bryant and mentioned a time when Jay-Z negotiated on behalf of Bryant, noting how involved he was in that process.
The Cowboys signed Bryant to a substantial five-year contract valued at $70 million before the 2015 season. Now, Parsons is seeking similar recognition, asking to be compensated like a top-tier defensive player. Recently, he even hinted at a potential trade, indicating he is open to discussions with the Cowboys’ front office.
At this point, it remains uncertain whether the Cowboys will follow through on any trade. The situation continues to develop, with all eyes on the team’s next move.
