Former DOD Spokesperson Reveals Pentagon ‘In Chaos’ Under Hegseth’s Leadership!

Former top DOD spokesperson: Pentagon in 'disarray' under Hegseth

A previous spokesman for the Pentagon stated in an opinion article published on Sunday that the Department of Defense is experiencing “confusion” under Secretary of Defense Pete Hegses.

“It has been a month of absolute disorder at the Pentagon. From leaking sensitive operational strategies to widespread dismissals, this dysfunction poses a significant distraction for the President. He deserves superior leadership from his senior staff.” I authored it in a piece for Politico Magazine.

“President Donald Trump has a solid track record of justifying his top officials, and considering this, it is difficult to understand why Defense Secretary Pete Hegses has remained in this position for so long,” Uriot added.

Recently, the Department of Defense has come under fire regarding the leak of confidential information and several high-profile shootings.

Last week, three Pentagon officials were suspended and subsequently terminated.

Their dismissal occurred during an investigation into the information leaks. The three fired officials—Dan Caldwell, Colin Carroll, and Darrin Sernick—expressed their disappointment in a joint statement shared on Social Platform X on Saturday. They mentioned being “very disheartened by how our services at the Department of Defense ended.” The trio also stated that they “strived to comprehend the significance of information security and upheld it daily,” asserting that “unidentified Pentagon officials have defamed our integrity with baseless accusations from within.”

Ullyot similarly contended that “a Department of Defense employee working under Hegseth attempted to anonymously tarnish the aide’s reputation, alleging that he was dismissed for leaking confidential information amid an ongoing investigation initiated earlier this month.”

“Hegseth is presently hosting two of his closest advisors, Caldwell and Sernick, who have been among his closest aides for over a decade, alongside the unsettling and puzzling purge that leaves him devoid of his team and deputy director,” Uriot remarked about the two dismissed Pentagon officials. “Rumors circulating within the building suggest that more dismissals may be forthcoming.”

“In summary, the building is in chaos under Hegses’ leadership,” remarked a former Pentagon spokesman. “Fortunately, I was not included in this purge of his senior leaders. Like Caldwell and Selnick, I am a long-time supporter of the secretary.”

The Oka reached out to the Pentagon for a response.
