Former NFL Linebacker Brian Braman Dies at 38
Brian Braman, a former linebacker in the NFL known for his time with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Houston Texans, has passed away after facing a rare form of cancer, as reported by his agent.
Braman was just 38 years old. According to his agent, Shawn Stellat, he died recently. He is survived by two daughters, aged 11 and 8.
Earlier this year, Braman was diagnosed with cancer, leading to the creation of a GoFundMe campaign in February that raised over $88,000, including a significant contribution of $10,000 from former Texans player JJ Watt.
A recent update on the fundraising page indicated that Braman had undergone “Car-T cell reprogramming treatment.” Initially, there were some positive signs, but unfortunately, it was noted that the cancer had spread aggressively, particularly around his vital organs.
Braman’s NFL career spanned seven years, primarily with the Eagles, where he played a role in securing a Super Bowl victory against the New England Patriots. He began as an undrafted free agent with the Texans in 2011 and spent three seasons with them before moving to the Eagles in 2014. He returned to the Eagles just before the playoffs in 2017, managing to record a tackle in the Super Bowl.
Prior to his professional career, Braman was a notable player at West Texas A&M. Throughout his time in the NFL from 2011 to 2017, he participated in 97 games, accumulating 56 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery.
