Criticism of Harrison Butker’s Benedictine University commencement speech continues.

He also mentioned the LGBTQ community in relation to Pride Month, adding that “abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia and the growing support of corrupt cultural values and media all result from widespread disorder.”
The latest media personality to criticize Butker is former ESPN host Michelle Beadle.

Beadle, who is now part of the San Antonio Spurs broadcast team, said on the “Over the Top” podcast with Peter Rosenberg that it would be “totally stupid” for Butker to lose his job and that “the beauty of this system” is that Butker is able to share his thoughts and everyone has a say.
But she said, “All [Butker] “It’s rubbish,” he said, adding that it disguised “hateful thoughts, feelings and prejudices” as faith-based beliefs.
“When hateful thoughts, feelings and prejudices are hidden behind the ‘cloak of religion,’ I find I am inclined to roll my eyes and stop listening.” Beadle says.

“But the fact that there were women in that audience who were not OK – I mean, there were women who were obviously OK – but then there were women who came out and said, ‘Hey, what’s up?'” Beadle added.
“We’ve worked so hard for so many years and you come here and say, ‘That’s cute, but what you really want to do is get married and have kids so you feel important. Like, ‘Fuck you.’ And by the way, it’s also free speech for me to say, ‘Fuck you, Harrison Butker.’ That’s my freedom! I can do that! I’m not going to lose my job and he should have that right too.”
Rosenberg added that Butker “basically demonized gay people,” and that “that’s enough. I don’t want you on my team.” He later joked that just because former punter Pat McAfee was a “talented guy,” other kickers shouldn’t be in the spotlight.
“Shut up, kicker. Kick the ball. You’re not even on the team,” Rosenberg said.
