Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt to be with Gloria-Sophie Burkandt in 2026

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt recently exchanged New Year’s wishes with Gloria-Sophie Bourkant, a 27-year-old German model who has been globetrotting from America to India to Europe.

It appears that Bourkant and Schmidt, who is 43 years her senior, have been spending nearly every day together over the past few weeks. The German newspaper Bild reported on this.

They are set to attend the Munich Security Conference, an important event that gathers top security officials from around the world, next weekend.

Bourkant has been frequently seen accompanying Schmidt, including at last month’s World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, as noted by Bild.

A source close to Schmidt shared that Bourkant is part of his inner circle during events like Davos. However, both parties have described their connection as a “friendship” while they’re rumored to have a romantic relationship.

The tabloid didn’t specify their New Year’s location together.

Bourkant is quite the figure in Germany, being the daughter of Bavarian Premier Markus Söder and having appeared on shows like “German Stupid Celebrities.” She contributes to Teen Vogue and has also been featured in Vogue Turkey.

In an essay for Teen Vogue from December 2022, Bourkant discussed her experience of being sexually harassed by a boss during her internship at age 18.

Bourkant divides her time between Germany and New York as she works towards a PhD focusing on sustainability, according to reports.

Real estate records indicate that she resides in a penthouse unit in a luxury tower south of Midtown.

As of Tuesday, Schmidt’s net worth was estimated at $53.9 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He is navigating a complicated breakup with 31-year-old entrepreneur Michelle Ritter.

In October, Ritter reportedly accused Schmidt of stalking, abuse, and “toxic masculinity” in court documents.

Ritter also sought a restraining order against Schmidt, which was later withdrawn after they reached a settlement. The initial allegations included claims that Schmidt barred Ritter from a website related to an AI project that had secured a $100 million investment from Ritter.

Subsequent filings suggested that Schmidt did not adhere to the terms of their agreement.
