Former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore released on $25,000 bond

Former Michigan football coach Sherone Moore was released on a $25,000 bail on Friday, as indicated by police records. It’s still uncertain if he will return home to his family.

At a courthouse in Ann Arbor, Moore’s attorney, Joseph Simon, avoided answering whether Moore would go back to his wife and three daughters. When Moore inquired about the possibility of going home, Simon simply stated, “I’m not going to answer that question.”

Moore, who has been married to Kelly since 2015, has three children: Shiloh, Solei, and Sadie. Simon didn’t provide any insight into Moore’s emotional state given the allegations against him.

As part of his release conditions, Moore must wear a GPS bracelet, undergo mental health treatment, and is prohibited from contacting the alleged victim.

Moore was dismissed from his position on Wednesday after the University of Michigan asserted that it had credible evidence of an “inappropriate relationship” with an employee. Following his firing, Moore was detained by police.

In court on Friday, Moore faced charges including stalking and burglary. Prosecutors indicated that he faces a felony charge of third-degree burglary as well as two misdemeanor charges for stalking and trespassing without permission.

Both misdemeanors are linked to a “domestic relationship.” According to the prosecution, Moore had continued to contact the victim via phone and text after their breakup, pressuring her to cooperate with the investigation at the University of Michigan. They claimed that this led him to appear at her residence.

Reportedly, Moore entered the home without permission, armed with a butter knife and kitchen shears, threatening his life. He allegedly expressed phrases like, “My blood is on your hands” and “You ruined my life” to the victim. Prosecutors described Moore’s behavior as threatening, asserting that he posed a risk to public safety.

Francis Xavier “Biff” Poggi has stepped in as the interim head coach, and he will lead the team during the Citrus Bowl matchup against Texas on December 31. Poggi had previously taken over during Moore’s suspension earlier this season for a recruiting violation.
