Cavaliers’ Playoff Run Cut Short by Pacers
The Cleveland Cavaliers entered this year’s playoffs as the top seed in the Eastern Conference. They had a solid start, easily taking care of the Miami Heat in the first round. But their luck changed in the second round against the Indiana Pacers, who proved to be a tougher opponent. The Pacers secured a 114-105 win on Tuesday, advancing them to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they’ll face the winner of the Knicks-Celtics series.
There’s been quite a bit of chatter about the Cavs’ disappointing performance, particularly focusing on star guard Donovan Mitchell. Former NBA player Kenyon Martin didn’t hold back in his criticism on Gilbert Arenas’ “Gil’s Arena Podcast.” He also brought up Mitchell’s teammates, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and DeAndre Hunter, expressing frustration over their lack of availability during the semi-finals.
Martin pointed out, “You put on a suit, mate, will you give me something?” referring to Garland, who had clearly been struggling with injuries. It’s tough, I mean, the guy didn’t play in Game 1 and couldn’t contribute much in Game 2 either.
In the end, the Pacers knocked out the Cavaliers in five games, marking a surprising end to Cleveland’s playoff hopes.
