According to the Firefighter Association in uniforms, two former firefighters who responded to the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York have died due to illness related to their fate.
The group announced on Sunday that Brooklyn's engine 234 firefighter Thomas Dan has died from a World Trade Center -related disease.
The news came three days after Dennis Colopy, the chief of the retired Battalion, died of cancer on January 30 in relief activities.

“Thomas served FDNY with honor and dedication, and his cities answered the phone when he most needed,” he said, the group announced Dan's death through social media.
