Former NFL MVP Cam Newton Agrees To Deal With ESPN To Become Media Personality

The Cam Newton media empire continues to grow!

Cam Newton, the former superstar quarterback for the Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots, is joining ESPN’s “First Take” as a commentator. The four-letter network’s Adam Schefter confirmed the news after Alex Weprin of The Hollywood Reporter made the initial report in an exclusive piece where he spoke with Newton.

The one-time NFC Champion has been the host of his own podcast since his days in the NFL came to an end.

Last played in 2021, the 35-year-old Newton was the 2011 NFL Draft’s No. 1 overall pick and went on to win the league’s MVP in 2015.

“I’ve always brought passion and energy into everything I do, and that won’t change at ESPN,” Newton said to The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to share my perspective and go toe-to-toe with the best in the business. Fans can expect the same intensity I brought to the field, along with real talk, bold takes, and good fun.”

Not gonna lie… The thought of Cam Newton, Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe on the same show sounds like some epic ish.
