Kevin Ware Jr., a former NFL player, received a 30-year prison sentence for the brutal murder of his girlfriend, followed by setting her remains on fire.
The 41-year-old, who played for teams like the Washington Redskins and San Francisco 49ers, entered a plea agreement on Wednesday, admitting guilt in the killing of 29-year-old Taylor Pomaski in 2021.
Pomaski went missing under suspicious circumstances after last being seen at a party at Ware’s home in Houston, Texas, on April 25, 2021. Reports indicate she vanished during that gathering.
Ultimately, her remains were discovered in December 2021.
Court documents detailed that Ware “cut her with a knife, struck her with a blunt object, strangled her, and then incinerated her body.”
He faced charges for homicide and tampering with evidence on July 28, 2021, related to Pomaski’s death.
