Former Officer Sentenced for Role in Brothel Operation
Pimping is apparently a problematic side job for a former cop.
George Trimigliozzi, a 56-year-old ex-Suffolk County officer known for his impressive service record, was sentenced to two years in prison on Monday for involvement with a mob-connected brothel in Holbrook. This came after he pleaded guilty to charges related to promoting prostitution and official misconduct. It’s sort of hard to believe he was once recognized as Cop of the Month.
During his 18 years on the force, Trimigliozzi earned several awards for his work, but everything fell apart when he allegedly rushed to respond to a robbery at the American Girls Spa brothel in 2021, going above the speed limit—90 mph, no less. Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney described his actions as a serious breach of duty, emphasizing, “It’s particularly egregious for sworn police officers to neglect their responsibilities.”
After a lengthy investigation, both Trimigliozzi and Stephen Alley—a physical education teacher in the Islip School District—were arrested last year. These seemingly upstanding citizens had led secret lives as operators in a prostitution scheme allegedly run by Frank Saggio, a man linked to the Mafia. This scheme, unfolding since 2019, involved several brothels, including the American Girls Spa and another called Tunnel of Love, where sex workers were reportedly required to pay between $6,000 and $12,000 monthly to operate.
Along with Trimigliozzi, Saggio and Dana Ciardullo, who managed the Tunnel of Love, pleaded guilty in September. Saggio faces nearly $1.88 million in restitution and is waiting for his sentencing. Ciardullo is set to be sentenced on December 18.
There are also accusations against Trimigliozzi for using his law enforcement position to sexually abuse two women he met through a dating app. Initially facing serious charges of sexual abuse and rape, those were dropped in light of lesser allegations. As for Alley, he is dealing with 27 charges related to corporate corruption and promoting prostitution, with his court appearance scheduled for next week.
