Former Princeton football player Tiger Bech killed in New Orleans attack

Wednesday's violence in New Orleans claimed the lives of at least 10 people, including former Princeton football player Tiger Beck.

Beck, a New Orleans native, played at Princeton from 2016 to 2018 and was an All-Ivy League kick returner. During his three-year career, he caught 53 passes for 825 yards and three touchdowns.

He graduated from university in 2021 and pursued a career in the financial industry. He worked as a stockbroker in New York City, but returned to his hometown in Louisiana for holidays.

Beck was also the older brother of current TCU wide receiver Jack Beck.

Jack broke the news of his brother's death in “X” with a condolence message.

“Love you always brother! You inspired me every day and now you can be with me every moment. I got the family T, don't worry . This is for us,” the TCU player wrote.

The suspect who carried out the attack drove his car into a crowd at a New Year's celebration in New Orleans, Louisiana, killing at least 10 people and injuring dozens more. The FBI identified the suspect as Shamsud Din Jabbar.

Following the discovery of an ISIS flag in the truck, the FBI is also working to determine “the subject's potential ties or ties to terrorist organizations.” There were weapons and possible IEDs in the suspect's vehicle, and other possible IEDs were located in the French Quarter.
