Former star of ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ John Schneider stands strong in his faith

Actor John Schneider is best known for his role as Beau Duke on the television show The Dukes of Hazzard. But his talent goes much deeper than playing the good ol' boy.

This iconic show about the antics of two handsome Southern cousins ​​living in the rural South made actor John Schneider (and co-star Tom Wopat) a star and captured the hearts of teenagers. It made my heart flutter.

But Schneider believes God has always been in control of his life.

“I believe that we are specifically designed to do something because God is planning something that we are a part of,” Schneider said.

But he remained true to what he believed God meant him to be.

“When I watched a movie, when I watched John Wayne, when I watched something happen on the big screen on Mt. Kisco, I always felt from the beginning that that's where I was meant to be,” Schneider said. That's what I meant,” he said.

When he auditioned for “The Dukes of Hazzard” at age 18, he had already been working in theater for 10 years.

As he mentioned, Schneider is originally from Mount Kisco, New York, and eventually moved to Atlanta, Georgia after his mother was transferred.

He was interested in theater from an early age.

When he auditioned for The Dukes of Hazzard at the age of 18, he had already been working in theater for 10 years.

“The Dukes” aired from 1979 to 1985.

“The industry is always surprised when you have some skills.”

Schneider, now 64, sometimes struggled to shake off his “Bo Duke” image after the show ended.

He could act and sing, but he had to prove it again.

“Every time the door opened, it slammed me in the face 10 times because I was famous…because I was famous,” Schneider said.

He added: “But the industry, by and large, I think – and this may be critical – thinks that the celebrity is the luckiest person in the room. And in reality, the talent… So if you have some skills, you'll always be successful in this industry.” I was surprised. “

Schneider also appeared on the TV show Smallville, playing Superman's father.

As a singer, he has released around 20 albums and starred on Broadway.

He is currently starring in Broadway's longest-running Who Did It Mystery show, “The Perfect Crime,'' which runs until February 2nd.

Co-star Katherine Russell is also a producer on the show.

While hosting an event at Sardi's restaurant, she spoke passionately about Schneider's talent and presented him with one of his iconic caricatures.

“You are, without a doubt, the best person to ever play this role.”

Russell said directly to Schneider, “I've been doing this play for 38 years. I've had so many people play this role. I'm not saying that because you're standing here today.'' No, you're definitely the best actor ever to play this role. ”
