Former 'The Voice' contestant Kata Hay taken into custody on a charge of vehicle-related manslaughter.

Kata Hei, a former contestant on NBC’s The Voice, was reportedly arrested on a warrant for vehicular homicide earlier this week.

Real name Kata Huddleston, he gained some recognition as a country music artist, especially for reaching the Top 20 in the show’s tenth season in 2016. Sources indicate he was taken into custody in Oklahoma last week.

The Goodlettsville Police Department in Tennessee informed media that Hay had an outstanding arrest warrant in Davidson County but was apprehended in Oklahoma.

A source revealed that authorities had issued a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) for the singer related to a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Long Hollow Pike near Interstate 65.

The Osage County, Oklahoma, Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Hay was arrested at his home after a warrant was issued by Tennessee State Police.

Currently, Hay is held at the Osage County Jail in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, and he will be extradited to Tennessee to face charges of vehicular homicide arising from an incident that took place on December 10.

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office noted that he is scheduled to appear before a district court judge on Monday to sign a waiver of extradition.

This isn’t the first time Hay has encountered legal issues. At 38 years old, he is dealing with a second DUI case in Tennessee, as per records accessed.

Hay has also faced charges for leaving the scene of an accident involving over $1,500 in property damage and is suspected of driving with an open alcohol container.

In 2022, when he was 35, Hay pled guilty to charges related to sexual contact with a minor, resulting in a six-month prison sentence.

The alleged victim’s mother claimed that Hay forced the boy’s tongue into his mouth and inappropriately touched him. In response, Hay contested the accuracy of these claims, though he didn’t provide evidence to support his side.
