Independence, patriotism and barbecue, oh my!
It’s the Fourth of July, and former “Vanderpump Rules” star Stassi Schroeder and her husband Beau Clark are tackling an important topic: What will you eat and drink to celebrate today?
The couple got into a heated discussion about Fourth of July barbecue must-haves on her latest episode. Self-proclaimed podcast “Stassi”

When the couple tried their hand at burgers, a barbecue staple, Schroeder expressed dislike for the shape of some of the patties.
“Some people like a big, thick, tall patty,” she says, “and they don’t enjoy any lettuce, tomato, cheese, ketchup… They can’t eat it all in one sitting. It’s really frustrating.”

The conversation then turned to potato salad, a divisive topic for the couple: Schroeder suggested potato salad was an obvious choice for a Fourth of July party, but Clark wanted to talk instead about dips, specifically the popular brand Dean’s.
“Dean’s is awful. I prefer homemade!” Schroeder lamented. “I buy a bag of French onions and mix them with sour cream. It’s so much better,” she insisted. “Dean’s is awful.”

The pair offered other suggestions, including a seven-layer dip, before moving on to discuss the best drinks to accompany a barbecue.
Clark suggested everything from Miller Lite to tequila-based cocktails like margaritas. He even suggested a piña colada, but Schroeder couldn’t imagine her husband making it.

“Have you ever made pina coladas at a barbecue?” she joked.
Schroeder explained that his preferred drinks are those that come in a can, such as hard seltzer.

But the conversation ultimately fell flat, as Schroeder and Clark said they had no plans and no idea how they would handle the holiday with a toddler and a baby in tow. Schroeder welcomed her second child, a son, in September; the couple also have a 3-year-old daughter.
