Jack Brewer Criticizes Minneapolis Authorities and Immigration Policies
Ex-Minnesota Vikings captain and University of Minnesota standout, Jack Brewer, has recently accused authorities in Minneapolis of offering refuge to what he describes as “thugs” among illegal immigrants. He claims the Democratic Party in Minnesota, which opposes actions taken by ICE, is effectively “deporting” its own supporters.
“There’s definitely something off in Minneapolis. We really need a full assessment of the city’s behavioral health. People seem to be disconnected from reality,” Brewer remarked in an interview.
As protests continue to erupt in Minneapolis, he shared his thoughts on necessary actions: “I truly hope President Trump will consider deploying the National Guard. A curfew is needed. If there are attacks on law enforcement, there need to be serious consequences. These professionals deserve to safely return home to their families.”
Reflecting on voter dynamics, Brewer added, “We’re driving away their voters. It’s a significant part of what’s happening, and it’s ruining their entire strategy.” His football career spanned from 2002 to 2006 in the NFL, playing as a safety for teams like the Giants and the Eagles.
Brewer, who received a key to the city from progressive Mayor Jacob Frey back in 2018, also criticized recent open immigration policies in the U.S.
“We can’t just let anyone into our country if they don’t share our core morals and values—that’s the situation we’re facing today,” he stated. He even traveled to Guatemala earlier this year, aiming to connect with families of immigrants who were deported from the U.S.
He expressed concern that newcomers from “Third World countries” do not align with American values and bring, in his words, “that culture” to the U.S.
“Minneapolis is sheltering these thugs. It’s shocking. Some of these individuals are downright demonic. I’ve spent over 25 years working in developing nations. Their values are starkly different,” Brewer remarked.
Continuing his critique, he directed his remarks at Mayor Frey, saying, “If I had the authority, I would have locked that city down to prevent what’s happening. His actions are absurd. He bends over backward for the Somali community while disregarding American culture and Christianity.” Brewer had initially begun his college football career at Southern Methodist University, even becoming a freshman All-American candidate.
After his football career, Brewer transitioned into finance and humanitarian work, joining Merrill Lynch as a wealth manager and later founding The Brewer Group, which invests in various sectors like education, healthcare, and technology.
In 2006, he established the Jack Brewer Foundation, focusing on disaster relief efforts, prison ministry, and tackling fatherlessness.
Moreover, he holds positions as chair of the Opportunity and Now Center and vice chair of the 1776 Center at the America First Policy Institute. Brewer has also contributed to the Commission on the Social Status of Black Men and Boys in an advisory capacity.
