AUSTIN, Texas — Formula 1’s New Home in the U.S.

Formula 1 has announced a significant update regarding its broadcasting in the United States. While the sport isn’t introducing a fourth race here just yet, F1 confirmed a longstanding rumor on Friday ahead of the US Grand Prix: Apple TV will be the new home for F1 broadcasts.

Beyond just airing the races, Apple plans to enhance the sport’s presence across various platforms including Apple News, Apple Maps, Apple Music, Apple Sports, and Apple Fitness+, as detailed in a press release.

Both organizations emphasized the increasing diversity of F1’s audience, mentioning Apple’s capacity to engage a wide range of consumers through its extensive ecosystem.

According to the 2025 World F1 Fan Survey, it’s noted that “47% of new F1 fans in the U.S. within the last five years are aged 18 to 24, and over half of them are women.” This indicates a significant opportunity for growth in reaching younger, more diverse fans through this partnership.

As part of the collaboration, Apple TV will showcase all practice sessions, qualifying rounds, sprint sessions, and grand prix races. Some races and all practice sessions during the season will also be available for free on the Apple TV app. Additionally, F1’s premium content, F1 TV Premium, will remain available exclusively through Apple TV subscriptions in the U.S. and will be free for subscribers.

F1’s president and CEO, Stefano Domenicali, expressed enthusiasm about this partnership, describing it as “incredibly exciting” for both sides.

“This partnership is a great opportunity for both F1 and Apple to tap into the growing market in the U.S. with innovative content and distribution,” Domenicali remarked. He noted their previous successful collaboration on “F1 The Movie,” which has enjoyed worldwide popularity.

“We share a vision to engage fans in the United States and to attract new ones with live broadcasts and engaging content throughout the year,” he added, thanking Apple’s team for their enthusiasm and dedication.

This new arrangement will mark the end of F1’s broadcasting on ESPN after this season, a network that has carried the races in the U.S. since 2018. In a brief statement, ESPN expressed pride in their accomplishments with F1 and looked forward to a strong conclusion to this final season.

“We are extremely proud of our partnership and wish F1 great success moving forward,” the network stated.
