Preamble
This season, Formula One is delightfully unpredictable. Oscar Piastri finds himself unexpectedly leading the McLaren drivers’ championship, with three wins out of five races. Meanwhile, Kimi Antonelli from Mercedes managed to snag pole position in the earlier sprint race in Miami.
The 18-year-old Italian expressed his excitement, saying he was “over the moon” and “super, super happy” about his surprising pole position. I mean, that part was kind of expected, right? Lando Norris ended up winning the race. You can read more about it in Giles Richards’ report.
Given the impressive pace displayed by the McLarens, driven by both Norris and Piastri, it looks like they could possibly shine again during the qualifying round for tomorrow’s main event.
Qualifying starts at 9 PM UK time.
