Forrest Frank Celebrates and Dances in His First Concert After Back Injury

Forest Frank’s Inspiring Performance at Iowa Fair

During his first concert at the Iowa Fair on Thursday, Christian artist Forest Frank leaped off the stage, which led to a serious injury. Despite this, he praised God, declaring that the Lord transformed “lemonade” into “lemonade.” Frank, alongside special guest Lecley, made history by selling out the grandstand, drawing in 15,804 fans.

Earlier this year, on July 19th, Frank suffered a skateboarding accident that resulted in two broken vertebrae. This incident left him in severe pain and caused uncertainty regarding his participation at the fair.

“I broke my back, but when God turned lemon into lemonade, something significant happened in the middle of it,” he shared with his audience, referencing a song titled lemonade that he recorded during his recovery.

Two weeks post-accident, Frank experienced a miraculous recovery; he woke up without pain and was even able to lift his 2-year-old son. He viewed this as a miracle.

“We can’t wait to share this story with our grandchildren—if we can, you know, before Jesus returns,” he wrote on Instagram following the concert. He quoted Isaiah 40:31, which expresses that those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength.

Throughout the concert, Frank emphasized his message centered on Jesus.

“I know I’m doing a lot of jumping around, but tonight is all about one name. It’s not about me; it’s about Jesus Christ,” Frank stated. “I will praise with every fiber of my being, and I hope you’ll do the same.”

Before embracing a Christian music career, Frank was part of the mainstream duo Surface. Reflecting on his transition, he mentioned, “I wasn’t really keen on taking this path, but I felt a calling from God to be here. I started creating worldly music, but I realized I wasn’t close enough to Jesus. I could feel a gentle nudge from God and eventually, it grew into more of a push.”

Recently, he received the New Artist of the Year award at the 2024 Dove Awards.

Frank aims to blend genres like rap and Gospel in his work, hoping to convey themes of hope and faith through his music. His rise in the industry serves to remind audiences that contemporary music can still share timeless truths.
