A violent crash involving four vehicles occurred near the Tarzana-Encino border on Sunday evening, resulting in one fatality and several injuries, according to officials.
The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the scene on Lindley Street shortly after 6:00 p.m. Emergency responders identified four vehicles involved in the collision and confirmed that one person was dead at the scene.
A woman, believed to be in her 30s, sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, but her condition has not been disclosed. While multiple individuals were reported injured, the total count and severity of their injuries remain unclear.
The crash also caused utility poles to topple, with telephone wires crashing down, complicating the situation for emergency crews and adding danger for passing motorists.
Images from the scene revealed a utility pole lying against a damaged black sedan. Authorities have yet to release the identity of the deceased, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
In addition to the fallen poles, scattered power and telephone lines were a concern, prompting the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power to be notified to secure the area as emergency personnel managed the scene.
