Four hurt in Dubai hotel fire following alleged Iranian attack

Four individuals sustained injuries when a fire erupted at a hotel in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah area, amidst reports of loud explosions linked to retaliatory strikes from the Iranian regime in the region.

The Dubai Media Office, a government entity, declared on Saturday that they had secured the area and put out the fire.

“The safety and well-being of residents and visitors is our top priority. Authorities are taking all necessary steps to ensure public safety. We urge everyone to remain calm, only rely on credible news from official channels, and avoid sharing videos or images on social media,” stated the news agency.

Authorities in Dubai have confirmed that an “incident” occurred in the Palm Jumeirah area, and emergency teams responded swiftly. However, details regarding the cause of the incident were not provided.

Reports have surfaced indicating that the United Arab Emirates military successfully intercepted an Iranian airstrike that was a response to US military operations against Iran.

Iran’s counteractions have primarily targeted US and Israeli interests within the Middle East. Explosions were reported across several countries hosting US troops, including Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan.

Countries in the Gulf region have openly criticized Iran’s aggressions, expressing solidarity with their neighbors. Qatar’s Foreign Ministry noted its “full right” to defend itself against Iranian threats, while Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry warned of serious repercussions from ongoing attacks on their sovereignty and international law principles.

The UAE Ministry of Defense stated that the country faced a “blatant attack by Iranian ballistic missiles,” indicating that their air defense systems had successfully intercepted multiple missiles. They also emphasized their “full rights to respond.”
