Four OSU fraternity members arrested after allegedly leaving dead longhorn on rival fraternity’s front lawn

Four Oklahoma State University fraternity members have been arrested in connection with a longhorn carcass left in front of another fraternity house last month. The discovery was made after Oklahoma State and Texas were set to battle for the Big 12 Championship.

fox news digital report Bennett Fady, Brody Shelby, Luke Ackerley and Andrew King were taken into custody Wednesday and later charged with misdemeanor charges of unlawful removal/disposal of a corpse.

Four fraternity members allegedly placed the dead longhorn on the front lawn of the Farmhouse Fraternity in Oklahoma on Dec. 1, the day before the Big 12 Championship game. The Longhorns won the football game by a score of 49-21.

The Longhorn was also branded with “F*** FH.” Authorities discovered that the dead longhorn beetle had a strap attached to its horn and was secured to a large concrete pillar on the fraternity's porch. The boys allegedly cut open the longhorn's abdomen, exposing its internal organs, the report said.

After the Big 12 Championship game, the story seemed to go away, but the Stillwater Police Department continued to investigate the cause of the incident. A necropsy revealed that the animal had died of the disease just 36 hours before it was found. That means he was dead before the fraternity members found him.

However, the branding and cuts on the abdomen occurred after the animal had already died. WFAA.

According to court documents, authorities said the Longhorn belonged to the family of another fraternity member. Investigators suggest the four boys borrowed another fraternity member's truck to transport the Longhorn, and the truck's owner said he did not know what it would be used for.

Stillwater police executed a search warrant at the fraternity's home to obtain video of the incident. However, much of the surveillance footage from that time was lost.

Authorities interviewed other members of the fraternity to determine who may have been involved in the incident. After questioning, investigators identified Fady, Ackerley, King, and Shelby as suspects.

The four juveniles were arrested and booked into the Payne County Jail. However, they were released on their own recognizance and have pleaded not guilty in the case, according to Fox News Digital.

It is unclear what punishment the students could face if found guilty.
