New Hampshire voters from across the state were handed unique “I Voted” stickers after casting their votes Tuesday, thanks to a creative fourth grader.

Voters across the country are accustomed to receiving red, white and blue stickers on the front of their polling places with the phrase “I Voted.” New Hampshire put a spin on an old idea by creating colorful new student-designed stickers.

More than 1,000 fourth graders from across the state submitted designs, and three were selected to be distributed during the state's primary election.

“We were thrilled by the number of entries we received from enthusiastic fourth graders across New Hampshire,” Deputy Secretary of State Erin Hennessy said in a statement. She said: “Their designs demonstrated a high level of talent, pride in their country and involvement in the electoral process. It was difficult for her to choose just three winners.”

The rules of the contest were simple. The phrase “I voted” had to be included somewhere on the sticker. Additionally, the design had to be drawn on a 2-inch wide template. The stickers had to represent the spirit of the state while encouraging people to get out and vote in the presidential primary.

Grace of Milton, Jacob of Auburn, and Rilin of Mount Vernon created unique designs for the final selection of voting stickers.

Grace's “I Voted” sticker features the Granite State's beloved symbol, the Old Man of the Mountain. Old Man of the Mountain, a rock formation resembling the profile of a man's face, collapsed on May 3, 2003. Although this rock formation no longer exists on Mount Cannon in Franconia, New Hampshire, the former landmark still serves its purpose. national symbol. Grace's sticker features an old man in the mountains leaning on an American flag.

Jacob also incorporated the American flag into the design on the top half of the sticker. In the photo below, a fisherman in the shape of New Hampshire is casting a fishing line into the blue water.
