Fox host presses Democratic rep over El Salvador visit in heated exchange: 'He doesn't matter to you'

Fox News host Laura Ingraham pushed Democrat Yasamine Ansari (Arizona) in a fierce exchange on Tuesday, with the host Kilmer Abrego Garcia telling lawmakers “no problem.”

Ansari joined “Ingraham’s Angle” shortly after she and other House Democrats visited El Salvador to check out Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man who was accidentally deported, and demanded that he be returned to the United States.

“What was your point when traveling to El Salvador? Senator Van Hollen was just there,” Ingraham noted Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen (D.)’s recent solo visit.

“I have nothing more than a legitimate process and the rule of law,” Ansari replied.

The Arizona Democrats pointed out that the Supreme Court ordered the Trump administration to “promote” the return of Abrego Garcia. President Trump and his top officials said they pointed out that the orders had put the blame on El Salvador to return him.

Ansari argued that it was a bipartisan issue and that people on the political spectrum were concerned about the implications of illegally ousting humans. She emphasized that a conservative majority of the Supreme Court said that Abrego Garcia should be brought back to the US.

Ingraham questioned Abrego Garcia’s right to justify the process that Ansari and his fellow Democrats were fighting. The two began to discuss with each other, and Ingraham pointed out that it was “a nuisance to viewers.”

The Fox News host later asked Ansari if he cared about the crime committed against US citizens by domestic immigrants. Maryland woman’s death He was reportedly killed by immigrants from Guatemala.

Ansari, of course, said Ingraham’s attempt to unite the deaths of American citizens, attempting to make an effort to fight for the rights of Abrego Garcia’s due process and the larger picture behind the fight.

“I am tempted by the violence that has happened in this country. As a former city official, I have a very strong pro-public safety record. That’s why I believe in the rule of law, which is why this case is so important,” Ansari said.

Ansari argued that Ingraham is trying to change the topic from the constitutional rights of a legitimate process to immigration crime, calling her question a “distraction from the main issue.”

“The Supreme Court says that he can be returned and in court we can discuss what action should be taken,” Ansari later said.

“I don’t think he’s important to you,” Ingraham intervened. “I think political talk is important to you.”

Ingraham pressed the lawmakers for the right to a legitimate process that Abrego Garcia has been denied. She highlighted the point from the Trump administration that if Abrego Garcia was returned to the US, he would be deported again.

“What you care about is the rights of illegal immigrants here,” Ingraham said, closing the interview.
