Fox News Channel surpasses NBC, CBS, and ABC in primetime ratings for the third week in a row

Fox News Dominates Viewership Over Competing Networks

Fox News Channel has outperformed NBC, CBS, and ABC in viewership from July 7 to 13, securing prime audience ratings for three consecutive weeks. During this time, Fox averaged 2.4 million viewers in Primetime, compared to NBC’s 2.2 million and both CBS and ABC with 2 million each.

Since Memorial Day, Fox News has maintained an impressive average of 3 million viewers during weekday Primetime, which has kept it ahead of all competitors, including ABC, NBC, and CBS. Remarkably, it has also led in viewership on weekdays since launching its summer season on June 20.

Fox News has now achieved a significant milestone in 2025, surpassing its Primetime broadcast competitors three times from Monday to Sunday, and seven times in weekday Primetime viewers. The last time it reached this level was in 2020, marking a notable run on the broadcast network.

In fact, Fox aired 97 of the 100 top cable broadcasts of the week, pulling in an average of 1.5 million viewers daily, even amidst the distraction of Wimbledon tennis coverage.

Shows like “Five,” featuring Dana Perino, Greg Gutfeld, Jesse Watters, Jessica Tarloff, and Harold Ford, led in key demographic ratings for viewers aged 25-54, garnering an average of 3.5 million viewers and 376,000 in the advertiser-coveted demographic.

The second quarter of 2025 has seen Fox News leaving its rivals far behind in ratings, achieving greater viewership than ABC, NBC, and CBS. Overall, Fox has now topped all cable networks, averaging 1.6 million viewers, significantly outpacing MSNBC and CNN.

Despite the robust performance of its daytime programming, shows such as “Special Report with Bret Baier,” “Ingraham Angle,” and “Jesse Watters Primetime” have driven daytime viewership above the competition.

Fox News finished the second quarter of 2025 on a high note, exceeding ABC and NBC in viewer numbers for the quarter and outperforming CBS in total audiences and demographic ratings in June.

With this recent success, Fox News marked its sixth consecutive quarter of leading in both total and Primetime viewers on cable. Viewer data is provided by Nielsen Media Research.
