FOX News host Julie Banderas and former Democratic New York Sen. David Carlucci sparred Friday over whether President Joe Biden is truly “in control” of the White House.
Biden's approval rating has reached 34% in the remaining weeks of his presidential term, according to a Gallup poll. public opinion poll It found that only 19% of Americans are satisfied with the direction of the country. Carlucci argued that Biden is making decisions based on what's good for the country rather than popularity, but argued that tech mogul Elon Musk is the true next president to take power.
“You can be pessimistic, you can ask questions, and you can always hope for improvement,” Carlucci said. “And that's what we have to do, strive for better. And sometimes these policies and ways of moving forward may not be popular. If you want to make an omelet, you don't have to crack the eggs. And that's what Joe Biden has done. He's unpopular with both the left and the right. We've done things and we believe it's the right direction for this country…If we're worried about who's in charge in the White House, we should stand up and do something White. Because I think we should be concerned about House co-president Elon Musk and the people around Donald Trump.”
“No, that's a very Democratic talking point about Elon Musk,” Banderas interjected. “Come on. I mean, first of all, Donald Trump won't let anyone take the wind out of his sails. I mean, you know that guy? He told Elon Musk to make decisions.” I'm not going to defer to her, just like Biden didn't let Kamala Harris do anything stupid in office.”

Democrats and liberal media are questioning whether Musk is truly in charge after both Musk and Trump voiced opposition to the 1,500-page continuing resolutions (CR) bill that failed in the House of Representatives. I thought it over. Carlucci said Musk is a “very talented person” who should have a role in the U.S. government, but he should be honest about his supposed control over President Trump's decision-making. insisted. “Don't you want a smart businessman in your office? Or do you want Kamala Harris?” Banderas asked.
“If we're talking about who has the decision-making power, let's call a spade a spade,” Carlucci argued. “If you care about that, let’s be transparent.”
Banderas said Americans don't know who has the “call power” and is making important decisions throughout the Biden administration.
Dozens of people close to the president's operations told The Wall Street Journal that White House aides and Cabinet members have been dealing with the 82-year-old president's responsibilities throughout his tenure, and some Cabinet members have made it clear that they met with his advisers, not with the president himself. The president's two top aides often had to provide basic instructions to the president with notecards and canceled meetings he would have attended if Biden had a “day off.”
The president withdrew from the presidential race in July after dozens of Democrats called for his resignation over concerns about his mental acuity and ability to serve.
