President-elect Donald Trump will choose Pete Hegseth, who heads the Pentagon, faced tough deliberations in the Senate on Tuesday as lawmakers decide whether to support the nominee.
Mr. Hegseth faced intense questioning from Democrats during his Armed Services Committee hearing, including over his previous comments about women serving in combat roles, and at one point was attacked by demonstrators who disrupted the hearing. Interrupted.
