Embattled Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis took the stand against allegations that he had an “improper” relationship with her. Special Prosecutor Nathan Wadewhich could derail her lawsuit against former President Donald Trump.

Ms. Willis became noticeably agitated and raised her voice at times during several hours of tumultuous testimony. At one point, Willis held up a printed copy of the charges against him in his hands and yelled at the judge, “It’s a lie!”

Willis also said defense attorney Ashley Marchan’s interests were “anti-democratic.”

Judge Scott McAfee, who is presiding over the case, asked for a five-minute adjournment. When court resumed, he told lawyers to stop “arguing each other” and warned Willis: “We must hear the questions as they are asked. If things repeat themselves over and over again, I have no choice.” But to bear your testimony. ”

Willis is scheduled to return to the stand Friday for further testimony.

President Trump performed his own courtroom drama Thursday. He appeared in a Manhattan court for a pretrial hearing in the criminal “hush money” case against him, where a judge set a start date for the first trial on the criminal charges.

The trial is scheduled to begin on March 25, a few weeks after Super Tuesday and before the end of the Republican primary.

Trump said he would campaign in the evening after attending the trial. “I’m going to be here during the day and campaign at night. Biden should do the same, but he’ll be sleeping,” Trump said outside court.
