President Trump backs away from abortion
Former President Trump on Monday disappointed some of the right’s most powerful pro-life voices with a statement saying abortion restrictions should be left up to individual states. Both Trump’s former vice president and Sen. Lindsey Graham strongly opposed the would-be Republican nominee’s position.
But despite refusing to express support for the federal government’s proposed 15-week abortion ban, pro-life activists still appear to view it as President Trump’s best bet come November.
