An internal memo showing panic within the Democratic Party over a “nonpartisan” voter registration effort that could help former President Trump is drawing criticism from those who say the registration effort was a “partisan fraud” from the beginning. .

Democrats across the country have become increasingly concerned about how much support Mr. Trump is drawing from typically trusted bases, and the party is closing in on nonprofits, saying donors fear they will support Mr. Trump.
