Ahead of the Super Tuesday election results, political commentator Mark Thiessen argued on Fox News that the only person less popular than President Biden is former President Trump.
Thiessen, along with former White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley, who served under Trump, discussed the policies and electability of each candidate, who is on track to win their respective primaries.
Fox News pundits argued that people will come to support Biden even if his approval ratings are low and he appears unpopular with voters.
“American people, if you think about it, everything I’ve said about Joe Biden’s numbers is disastrous and he’s the most unpopular president in history. If you think he can’t win, I have two words for you. This is Senator Fetterman,” Thiessen said Tuesday. Comment highlighted by Mediaite.
He went on to claim that “voters are saying that if they don’t like the Republican alternative, they’re going to vote for someone who just had a stroke and couldn’t form a coherent sentence in a debate.” and pointed out Mr. Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania)’s 2022 victory and the stroke he suffered during the campaign.
“The only person who is less popular than Joe Biden is Donald Trump,” Thiessen said. “Many people don’t want this choice. So it could go either way.”
After the video aired, President Trump posted about Thiessen, a former aide to former President George W. Bush, on his Truth Social site.
The former president called him a “Rino Bush apologist,” and a Fox News commentator said, “You were wrong about me in 2016, but in 2020 I got more votes than any sitting president in history.” ” he said.
