Fox News Dominates YouTube Video Views
In May, Fox News Media took the lead as YouTube’s top news brand, achieving an impressive 362 million video views. This number significantly outperformed competitors like ABC, NBC, CBS, and various cable outlets. To put this into perspective, MSNBC came in second with 298 million, while CNN had 109 million.
Among traditional networks, ABC garnered 114 million views, NBC reached 111 million, and CBS managed 54 million. Interestingly, the New York Times lagged behind with just 13 million video views during the same month.
Fox News’s substantial growth on YouTube is noteworthy; the platform recorded a remarkable 98% increase in views compared to the previous year. An exciting addition to their content lineup, the newly launched Fox News Clip channel racked up nearly 30 million views within its first month, showcasing current reports and analyses from the Fox News Channel.
Additionally, Fox Business attracted 63 million views in May alone and accumulated 1.08 billion views across platforms like Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and X.
Consistent Growth Despite Changing Times
According to Fox Corporation’s COO, the network’s growth has remained sustainable, particularly during the Trump administration. This sentiment is reflected in the network’s strong ratings performance, which continues even amidst changes in the news landscape.
Fox News’s viewership statistics for May were equally impressive. The network averaged 1.6 million viewers, dwarfing the 545,000 viewers of MSNBC and 353,000 for CNN. In fact, total viewership for Fox has risen by 21% since May 2024, while MSNBC has seen a decline of 33% and CNN 24%.
During prime time, Fox News averaged around 2.5 million viewers, compared to 877,000 for MSNBC and 426,000 for CNN. Overall, Fox News held approximately 65% of the cable news audience, showcasing its significant reach during both regular and prime time slots.
