Fellow analysts were caught off-guard by Shannon Sharp’s imminence from Fox Sports.
The Post’s Ryan Glasspiegel said Wednesday that Sharp and the station have reached an agreement to acquire the “Undisputed” co-host with former NFL player Skip Bayless, whose tenure ends after the 2023 NBA Finals. reported that it happened.
The news comes after glaring tensions between Sharpe and Bayless became apparent to other media insiders during the broadcast.
“I am surprised by the news that Shannon Sharp is leaving Undisputed. I think this is a big loss for FS1,” said Chris Broussard. “The Odd Couple” on Fox Sports Radio on wednesday night. I thought he and Skip Bayless were at least at a point where they could coexist, but apparently not. ”
Friction between Sharpe and Bayless culminated in a disagreement over a tweet Bayless sent after Bills safety Dumar Hamlin collapsed on the field against the Bengals in Week 17.
Broussard and co-host Rob Parker pinpointed a time when they thought the show had become more personal than opinionated. In a December 2022 episode, Bayless criticized Hall of Fame tight end Sharpe using comparisons to Tom Brady.
“The moment Skip claimed that Shannon was ‘jealous’ of Tom Brady and Shannon took off his glasses, that was the moment they broke up,” Parker said. “Skip even told him to put his glasses back on and Skip didn’t like it at all… Chris, we had a fight on the radio once, but be careful not to cross the line. I have to. I don’t want to hurt my partner as much as I hurt the show.”

Both noted that the acquisition showed how frustrated Sharp was with his situation, but Broussard and Parker praised Sharp’s professionalism as things turned out.
Still, they remain as interested in Sharp’s landing as everyone else.
“It will be interesting to see where he goes,” Broussard said.
“He’s created his own brand, so there will be a lot of suitors,” Parker added. “There will be a show for him.”
