Pollster Frank Luntz declared last year that Donald Trump “will never win” the 2024 presidential election. Now, Luntz says he'll make a six-figure bet on President Trump. I'll win.
Lantz said on the New York Times podcast. Said Last May:
If Donald Trump runs for president, he will be the Republican front-runner with the best chance of winning the nomination. He could never win a general election. But he can't imagine losing the Republican primary. That's why he's such an important figure within the Republican Party. …I'm betting he'll be the candidate. And I would bet that whoever the Democratic nominee is, he loses.
But Republican pollsters now believe Trump is the favorite to win the 2024 election.
In a video posted to social media last week, Luntz is asked, “If you had to bet $150,000 on who would win in November, who would you bet on?”
Clearly uncomfortable with what he was about to say, Luntz cringed as he admitted he would bet big on Trump to defeat President Joe Biden in a rematch.
“I never dreamed I'd say this, but I'm betting on Trump,” Luntz admitted.
“I never — I thought it was over. I thought it was over. It's not coming back from impeachment. It's not coming back from January 6th. It's not coming back from any of this, but he's come back.” explained. “That's going to give Trump the advantage at this point because the guy is a survivor and his opponent is having a very difficult time.”
This confession is significant not only because it represents a complete departure from what Luntz said just eight months ago, but also because it comes from someone who makes no secret of his disdain for Trump. It is.
But Luntz also insisted he would not hesitate to report the truth.
“I'm going to piss off a lot of people with my observations this year. But it's @FrankLuntz that makes sure you want the truth,” Luntz said. said in response to A video of his prophecy went viral.
In fact, no honest pollster can deny what the polls have been showing for months. Mr. Trump is on the rise, and Mr. Biden is a highly unpopular incumbent who will find it difficult to repeat his victory.
