Frankie Valli Cancels Farewell Tour for Health Reasons

Frankie Valli has made the decision to cancel the remaining dates of his farewell tour with the Four Seasons, citing health issues.

In a heartfelt message on social media, the 92-year-old singer expressed his regret, saying, “I am truly sorry to disappoint those who purchased tickets to my shows, but I’ve decided to take a break from touring for the rest of the year to focus on my health. I look forward to getting healthy and seeing you all again. Thank you for all the well wishes.”

Valli, who is the last original member of the iconic group, kicked off his farewell tour, titled The Last Encore, in October 2023.

His fans have reacted with overwhelming support. One follower commented, “I’m so glad you’re taking time to take care of yourself. I hope you and your wife are relaxing and having some quiet time. I look forward to seeing you next time.” Another fan wrote, “No need to apologize. You’ve given us some of the best songs ever written. Take care of yourself.”

Last year, Valli drew concern when a video surfaced showing him struggling to recall lyrics during a performance. He later addressed this in a statement, acknowledging the internet buzz around him: “I know a lot has been written about me lately, so I wanted to clear the air. I’m lucky to be over 90 and still doing what I love. As long as I can and the audience wants to see me, I’ll keep performing. I really love what I do.”

Reflecting on the essence of their music, Valli noted, “The sound of the Four Seasons has always been about layering vocals and instruments. We use our experience to make it sound like the record. I laugh when I see comments suggesting someone is forcing me to get on stage. No one has ever forced me to do anything I don’t want to do.”

Looking forward, he shared, “I’m going to do as many shows as I can and bring that great Four Seasons sound. Like that line in ‘Jersey Boys,’ I’m like a rabbit on TV, just keep going, following the music.”
