Frankie Valli fans recently expressed concern for the star’s health, but he came back swinging Monday to set the record straight.
Videos of the famous singer’s recent performances with The Four Seasons went viral for all the wrong reasons, with many speculating Valli was forced to perform against his will. Fans took to social media suggesting the person making him take the stage was guilty of elder abuse, amid many comments that suggested the star was forgetting his lyrics and lip-synching. Valli rose to his defense with conviction during a Sept. 30 interview with People, telling fans he loves being on stage and has no plans to slow down.

Valli insisted nobody is forcing him to take the stage.
“I know there has been a lot of stuff on the internet about me lately so I wanted to clear the air. I am blessed to be 90 years old and still be doing what I love to do and as long as I am able, and audiences want to come see me, I am going to be out there performing as I always,” Valli told the outlet.
“I absolutely love what I do. And I know we put on a great show because our fans are still coming out in force and the show still rocks.”
Who keeps getting Frankie Valli up on stage to perform? He can’t sing the songs anymore, it’s glaringly obvious he’s lip syncing. He doesn’t know where he is half the time. Poor from his whole team. pic.twitter.com/e7S0DiRZrJ

He elaborated on how his shows are put together to further put critics at ease.
“How do we do the show?! The Four Seasons sound was always about layering vocals and instruments. We use our 60 years of experience so we sound like the records. I sing, I have singers who sing, great arrangements…everything,” he said.
Even 90-year-old Frankie Valli shows up.
(Seriously, does this poor old man owe the mob money or something that he has to go out and vaguely move his lips? Let Frankie REST.) pic.twitter.com/pouh9DO7w5

“I get a chuckle from the comments wondering if someone forcing me to go on stage. Nobody has ever made me do anything I didn’t want to do,” Valli told People.
“I plan to be doing shows as long as I can, delivering that great Four Seasons sound. Like that line in Jersey Boys, I’m like that bunny on TV, that just keeps going and going and going. Chasing the music.” (RELATED: Judge Grants Famous Singer 3-Year Restraining Order Against His Son)
Valli celebrated his 90th birthday in May, and continues to maintain an active performance schedule. He is currently scheduled to tour through April 2025.
