‘Freaky Friday’ star Lindsay Lohan gets emotional over ‘most beautiful’ part of motherhood

Lindsay Lohan talks about the joys of motherhood.

Recent”Good morning, AmericaSpeaking about her new life as a mother to her soon-to-be one-year-old son, Lohan said she was “cherishing every moment.”

“I’m so grateful for every moment, every second,” Lohan explained. “Every morning I wake up and I run to hold my son in my arms and I just look at him and he looks back at me and I’m overcome. It’s the most beautiful thing. I’m so grateful every day.”

“We’re always moving so fast, so I feel like taking time for myself and really cherishing every moment is the only thing I’ve learned over time.”

Lindsay Lohan: From ‘mean girl’ to new mom who finds ‘greatest joy’

The “Mean Girls” star gave birth to a son with her husband, Vader Shammas, last summer. The couple announced their engagement in November 2021 after three years of dating, and later announced their marriage in April 2022.

Shammas and Lohan met when she approached him at a restaurant in Dubai, where she has lived for almost 10 years.

“I said, ‘You sound like someone I know,’ and he said, ‘No, who?'” she told Allure in June 2023, adding that they talked for hours that night. “And I said to him, ‘I feel like you’re the person I could spend the rest of my life with.’ I’d never talked to anyone like that before.”

During the “Good Morning America” ​​interview, Lohan also spoke about reprising her role as Anna Coleman in “Freaky Friday,” a role she first played in 2003. The sequel is set to premiere in 2025.

While Lohan didn’t reveal much about the story, she did say that her daughter will be in the film, she also revealed that she took guitar lessons in preparation for the movie, and gushed about how great it would be to work with Jamie Lee Curtis again.

“Jamie and I have kept in touch over the years,” she said. “They say that when you have a best friend or someone you’re really close to, you don’t see them for years, but when you see them again it’s like you never left. I think it’s really amazing that women always support women.”

In the 2003 film, Curtis and Lohan played a mother and daughter who are constantly at odds, and who end up switching bodies after a particularly bad argument. The rest of the movie centers around them trying to get back together, as they learn about the struggles of each other’s lives and grow closer.

While Lohan promises the sequel will be “a lot wackier” than audiences are expecting, she says the atmosphere on set was great.

“It’s amazing. We all have so much fun and it’s really great to be able to do that on set,” she told Good Morning America. “Just wanting to have a really good time all the time. So, a lot of love, a lot of fun, a lot of laughter. It’s an amazing experience.”
