French McDonald’s threatens to sauce after Stephen Curry’s Olympic performance

Stephen Curry’s gold medal-winning performance over the weekend was enough to lead the United States to the gold medal and has McDonald’s in France reconsidering one of its sauces.

The company joked on social media on Sunday that it was having to rethink its staple curry sauce following the NBA superstar’s incredible performance against France at the Olympics.

“For obvious reasons, we are considering removing this sauce,” McDonald’s France wrote on Instagram, according to a translation of the post.

The photo was captioned, “At least 4 years.”

On Saturday, Curry scored 24 points and made four 3-pointers in the final three minutes to lead the United States to the gold medal, but the French players seemed a bit down.

His 3-pointer with 33 seconds left in the game gave the U.S. a nine-point lead and broke the hearts of France.

This year’s Olympics marked the second consecutive Summer Olympics in which the United States and France faced off for the gold medal.

“I’ve seen Steph make that play a few times, and I never get tired of it,” Team USA and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters. “This is a global sport, and there are a lot of great players, but I still feel like we have the best players. They all played very unselfishly throughout this game, through all the noise and pressure. We might be the only team in the world where our fans would be embarrassed if we won the silver medal. That’s the pressure we face.”

“But our players, and you saw Steph, love the pressure. They appreciated the atmosphere and they played great.”

Curry told reporters: According to ESPN:he envisioned every shot he took going in.

“I could only see the rim, I couldn’t see who was in front of me. I knew it was a little late, but I was impressed with the shot,” he said of the shot with 33 seconds left.

The Olympic joy may have been interrupted by an apparent clash between Curry’s wife, Ayesha, and his mother, Sonia, with French police after the gold medal game.
