A friend of Savannah Guthrie recently shared that the NBC host is in “the nation’s prayers” as her family seeks the safe return of her mother. Paula Farris, a former ABC News correspondent and the founder of CARRY Media, reached out to Guthrie earlier this week with messages of support. She mentioned the bond they share over their faith, highlighting how Guthrie values family above fame.
Farris expressed her heartbreak for Guthrie, saying, “All she wanted was a family, and I know all she wants now is to be reunited with her mother, Nancy.” This sentiment was shared during an appearance on “The Will Cain Show.”
Nancy Guthrie, who is 84, was last seen at her residence in Tucson, Arizona, on January 31. While law enforcement has confirmed a crime took place, they have not released any details on a suspect or motive.
The FBI, along with the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, is investigating communications linked to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Multiple ransom demands have emerged, including one that was reportedly sent to local news outlets and TMZ earlier this week.
Farris revealed feelings of helplessness among those close to the family as the investigation unfolds, emphasizing that their faith has been crucial during this challenging time. “We will continue to pray for her tirelessly. You know, I’m a woman of great faith, and she’s a woman of great faith,” she noted.
In another update, the Guthrie family has urged anyone with information about Nancy’s disappearance to step forward, mentioning the existence of a ransom note and expressing their willingness to discuss it.
