Yes, Donald Trump is sometimes confusing. And from the church’s point of view, we should not be satisfied that “he would obviously be a better president than the current dementia patient” and instead elevate him to the 21st generation. For many people, there is something undeniable about Barabbas. -Charlemagne in the century.
But as believers and as a people, we have a much bigger problem than that. His name is Judas.
In our time, we have created new heresies and “sanitized” scripture.
Witness the bipartisan betrayal that unfolded in Congress this week. In the face of the ongoing border incursion, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) betrayed his base by violating every part of his official duties, while Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (R-New York) Similarly, the state also violated every aspect of its responsibilities as a public official.his mission is reward his.
Does anyone know the recent exchange rate for 30 pieces of silver?
Mr. Johnson, aka Mr. Biblical Worldview, has boldly taken the baton from his kinder-than-god ancestor, Mike Pence. Both men rose to a level of political power that exceeded that of other evangelicals of their generation. And, sadly, but at great cost to the message and mission of Christianity, these two are emphasizing the kind of piety over belief and flight over fight that has pervaded the pulpits of too many evangelicals in America. It embodies cowardice. (For Exhibit A, see the reckless leadership of Mr. Pence and his coronavirus task force.)
To that end, I would like to share with you my “one year later bible.” scripture reading From one morning last week:
moreover, [Jehoram] made a high place [altars to the demon Asherah to perform sex rites as worship] He led the inhabitants of Jerusalem into fornication in the mountainous region of Judah, leading Judah astray. And a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, “Thus says the LORD, the God of your father David, ‘You have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, or in the ways of Asa king of Judah. But as the house of Ahab led Israel into fornication, so you went in the way of the king of Israel, seducing the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem into fornication; You have killed your brothers. Behold, the Lord will bring a great plague on your people, on your children, on your wives, and on all your possessions. And you yourself will be very sick with a disease of the intestines. and his intestines would come out because of his disease. And the LORD stirred up the anger of the Arabians that were near the Philistines and the Ethiopians, and they came against Judah. and after all this the Lord had no son left but his youngest son Jehoahaz. His intestines were struck with an incurable disease. Eventually, after two years, his intestines came out due to the disease and he died in agony. He began his reign at the age of 32 and reigned for eight years in Jerusalem, and he left without any regrets. They buried him in the city of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
If you are a Christian, you believe that the God who cursed this evil political ruler with demonic influence over the people in a very violent, painful and graphic way is none other than Jesus Christ. Sho. Because to be a Christian is to believe that Jesus Christ is God, the Son of the Holy Trinity. But how many Christians knew this message was in the Bible?
This week I was talking to a sincere believer and a true man’s man. But when he quoted Nehemiah 13 about beating people and pulling out their beards for defiling the temple, he was stunned.he knew nothing that It was in the Bible.
That’s a big problem. If you go to a church that you can expect will not preach this verse, find another church. That church is part of the problem of the declining culture in which you live.
Unfortunately, this will be the case in a significant number of churches that many evangelicals would happily attend. In our time, we have created new heresies and “sanitized” scripture.
Most evangelical churches do not openly preach heresy, but they also do not openly preach the Bible. They are self-editing. They decide which scriptures to listen to and which ones not to listen to as if they were their own pope. Which ones can you deal with and which ones can’t you? Which will fill the seats and safes, and which will not.
Nehemiah 13 won’t spark another Hillsong hit or a wave of false suburban converts to tithing. And although that is no excuse for any believer, this new heresy is It directly influences our convenience-oriented culture.
Many parents are “too busy” to know what their children are learning in public school, and as a result we now have communists, degenerates, and God-haters ( Just as we are reaping the benefits of (again), we have also commissioned a school board. The time we spend in God’s Word is just Sunday morning at church. Because otherwise we are “too busy” to do it ourselves every day.
Now, just a generation later, we have Pence and Johnson, soft-headed, sweater-vest-wearing, khaki-pleated Beta males. They think they are “loving their neighbor as themselves” by taking the side of the enemy against their own enemy. God.
Many evangelical churches deal with people week after week and year after year who have rejected God but have been repackaged as “$eeker$.” If that sounds disappointing, it’s true. But, you ask, does mercy trump judgment? yes. But it won’t be cancelled. Hell still exists and people go there every day with sadness. And one of the reasons for this is this self-comfort cleansing that leads church canons to believe they are saved when in fact they are false converts. It is heresy that has been done.
We simply do not take disciple-making seriously, and this is a fundamental denial of the Great Commission to “make disciples of the nations” (disciple is the root word for discipline). Mere conversion is only the first step toward discipleship. The ceremony itself has only just begun, just as your marriage is announced on the wedding day and the marriage cannot proceed without it. How successful would your marriage be if it culminated on your wedding day? Not very!
Furthermore, the bride (the church) cannot become the successor of the bridegroom (Christ) simply by reaching the pinnacle of conversion. “By their fruits you will know them,” says our Lord. Well, Pence and Johnson may be the most visible and influential evangelicals of their generation. Mr. Johnson is one or two heartbeats away from assuming the most powerful office on earth. But what do the fruits of their public service reveal about them and the pastors who guided them?
The verdict is in. The evangelical church has clearly failed such people and legions even further. Daniels was needed. Nehemiah was needed. Instead, they gave us Jezebel.
