Manhunt Underway for Suspect in Bail Bondsman’s Killing
A man is on the run after allegedly killing 73-year-old James Eatis, who was a bail bondsman, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather, while attempting to detain him.
On February 10, Eastis tried to revoke the bail of 34-year-old Francisco Cinecio-Alvarez at his home in Hayden, Alabama. Reports indicate that Cinecio-Alvarez shot Eastis during the confrontation and fled the scene in a light blue and white Ford F-150.
According to the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, a warrant has been issued for Cinecio-Alvarez on suspicion of murder. Officials stated on Facebook, “Cinecio-Alvarez has not been located and is still being sought.”
Authorities believe he may return to his home on Harris Street or visit acquaintances in the area. They added a note of caution, saying, “If you live near Cinecio-Alvarez, stay vigilant. We don’t think he is looking for more violence against the public, but remain cautious if you see him.”
Anyone with information on Cinecio-Alvarez’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Blount County Sheriff’s Office at 205-625-4127 or their local police department.
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up for Eastis’ family, as they describe him as someone who “built a life rooted in hard work, courage, and family.” The campaign statements highlight, “Above all else, James was a family man. He was married to his beloved wife Sandra Eastis for 55 years and established a strong foundation for his family.”
Eastis and Sandra raised two children—Jamie Moore and William James Eatis, affectionately known as “Opie.” He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and his death has left a deep void in the lives of his loved ones. This memorial fundraiser, organized by his colleagues from the Alabama Bail Bonds Association, aims to honor his legacy and assist Sandra and her family during this tough time.
The GoFundMe is intended to cover funeral and burial costs, as well as support for Sandra and the family. It emphasizes, “James lived a life of service, love, and dedication.”
