FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitive Captured in India

Cindy Rodriguez Singh, who was featured on the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted Fugitives” list, has been arrested in India.

FBI Director Kash Patel announced that Singh was apprehended after fleeing the United States to evade charges connected to the murder of her six-year-old son, Noel Rodriguez Alvarez.

She is set to face charges of Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution and Capital Murder relating to a child under ten years of age.

Officials reported that Noel suffered from numerous health issues, including a severe developmental disorder and chronic lung disease.

In March 2023, authorities in Everman, Texas, initiated a welfare check after the boy had not been seen since October 2022.

It’s alleged that Rodriguez Singh misled authorities about her son’s location and soon after, she boarded a flight to India. It seems she hasn’t returned to the U.S. since then.

In October 2023, Singh was charged with capital murder in a Texas court, and by November, a federal arrest warrant was issued for her flight from prosecution.

“This is the 4th ‘10 Most Wanted’ fugitive arrested in the last 7 months. This reflects the excellent work of law enforcement and an administration supportive of their efforts,” Patel noted.

On October 3, 2024, an INTERPOL Red Notice for Rodriguez Singh was disseminated to all member countries, including India, along with an extradition request.

With the collaboration of Indian authorities and INTERPOL, Singh was arrested in India. She has since been returned to the United States and will be turned over to Texas authorities.
