Full ‘MNF’ predictions, odds: Commanders-Bengals, Jaguars-Bills

Monday's schedule for Week 3 of the NFL season features not one but two matchups: Washington vs. Cincinnati and Jacksonville vs. Buffalo.

Which players from these four teams will steal the spotlight? Here are my favorite Monday Night Football player prop bets for each game:

Commanders vs Bengals predictions

(7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN)

Last year, the Giants ranked 30th in offensive DVOA, 30th in points per game and 29th in yards per game, and showed little improvement on those fronts during the offseason.

However, the Commanders allowed Daniel Jones to pass for 178 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions in Week 2.

Washington also allowed Baker Mayfield to throw four touchdowns in the first game of the 2024 season.

So what do you think Joe Burrow will do for Washington?

Burrow and the Bengals may have gotten off to a slow start to the season with a home loss to New England, but they quickly bounced back against Kansas City and nearly beat the defending champions on the road.

Burrow passed for 258 yards and two touchdowns in Week 2 against the Chiefs.

Now he'll face a Washington team that had the second-worst defensive rating in the 2024 season, according to Pro Football Focus, despite playing against two mediocre offensive teams (the Giants and Tampa Bay).

Additionally, star wide receiver Tee Higgins is expected to return to practice later this week and play on Monday night, giving Burrow another receiving weapon to target against what is arguably the weakest Commanders defense in the league.

Burrow should slice through the Commanders on his way to at least two touchdowns through the air.

Recommendation: Joe Burrow at least 1.5 passing touchdowns (-136, BetRivers).

Jaguars vs Bills predictions

(8:15 p.m. ET, ABC)

Despite having one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Josh Allen, under center, Buffalo has been hesitant to pass the ball — in fact, Allen is averaging just 21 pass attempts through the first two games.

Part of Allen's low passing numbers can be attributed to the stellar play of running back James Cook, who has two rushing touchdowns through the first two weeks.

But there's no doubt that the main reason Buffalo has been hesitant to throw the pass as much as the past few seasons is because they lost their two top receivers (Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs) in the offseason.

If the offensive line can't protect the quarterback in the pocket, that could reduce a team's passing volume, but that's not the case for Buffalo.

Jaguars vs Bills "Monday Night Football" Double header.
Jaguars vs. Bills is the other key matchup of the “Monday Night Football” doubleheader. AP

Per PFF, the Bills have the eighth-best pass blocking grade so far this season, while allowing the fewest pressures in the NFL (six) and the second-lowest pressure rate (12.2%).

Simply put, Buffalo's offense will look different this year than it has in years past. Allen will be passing less and the offense will be less successful.

As for this matchup, the Jaguars secondary hasn't been stellar, but they haven't performed like the bottom-five unit many projected them to be this season.

Do you bet on the NFL?

Jacksonville is desperate for a win after starting 0-2 and expects to be on edge, especially defensively.

Recommendation: Josh Allen under 21.5 passing attempts (-135, FanDuel).
