Fulton County requests the return of 2020 ballots that were taken.

Officials in Fulton County, Georgia, have submitted a motion to recover ballots and other documents seized by the FBI during a raid last week. This motion, which is currently sealed, seeks the return of around 656 boxes containing original materials from the 2020 election.

The warrant provided to the county outlines specific items that investigators aimed to obtain. This includes all ballots, the tally tapes from the vote scanners, images of the electronic ballots used during counting and recounts, as well as all voter rolls.

“This morning’s filing couldn’t have come soon enough. Justice delayed is justice denied,” remarked Fulton County Commissioner Marvin Arrington, emphasizing the urgency for justice for the county residents. “That’s why I pushed to get this motion filed as quickly as possible.”

Additionally, the motion requests the court to prevent the federal government from accessing or using the seized materials while the motion is under consideration.

The FBI conducted the raid on January 28 at Fulton County’s main election facility located in Union City, near Atlanta, focusing on records linked to the 2020 general election.

Since President Biden’s victory over former President Trump in 2020—wherein Biden secured Georgia—Fulton County has faced significant scrutiny. Trump and his supporters have consistently claimed there was widespread voter fraud affecting the election outcome.

“The president and his allies continue to refuse to accept the reality of their loss,” stated County Commission Chairman Rob Pitts. He also pointed out that even if Trump had won Georgia, he still would have lost the presidency. Pitts defended the county’s election integrity, noting that Fulton has managed 17 elections without any issues since 2020.

“This issue goes beyond Fulton County. It’s about elections across Georgia and the entire nation,” Pitts continued, referencing comments made by Trump on a recent podcast, where he urged Republicans to take extreme actions regarding elections. The White House press secretary acknowledged that the president had mentioned related legislative efforts.

During the World Economic Forum in Davos last month, Trump called for legal actions connected to the 2020 election, suggesting that “People will soon be prosecuted for what they did.”

While Fox News Digital has reached out to the Department of Justice for further information, the FBI has chosen not to comment on the ongoing situation.
