Tragic Death of Irish Fashion Designer
Marsanolan, a 33-year-old fashion designer from Ireland, was discovered deceased on a 54-foot yacht in Montauk earlier this month, just as she was about to launch her summerwear brand, East X East, in New York.
A Funeral Mass is set for Wednesday at 10 AM at Carlow’s Assumption Cathedral, with a burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Her family has requested donations to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust instead of flowers. This charity helps in repatriating the remains of Irish nationals.
Investigation Underway
As lawyers unveil further details, murder investigators are cautioning against hasty conclusions regarding the circumstances surrounding the designer’s death.
Initial reports indicate that her family is considering a second autopsy before her body is returned home. Authorities, including Suffolk County Police, have not confirmed the official cause of death despite preliminary investigations and have noted no signs of foul play. They are awaiting the toxicology report for additional insights.
Arthur Adara, a prominent New York lawyer representing the family, emphasized that a comprehensive investigation is ongoing. He mentioned that family members have met with homicide detectives to discuss the situation surrounding her untimely passing.
Unfolding Mystery
Speculation regarding a potential drug overdose has emerged, but Adara criticized such conclusions as premature. While the family waits for more clarity, he urged calm as investigators continue their work.
On August 5th, East Hampton Town Police were alerted to the yacht, named Ripple, after reports of an unconscious woman. A good Samaritan attempted CPR, but first responders declared Nolan deceased at the scene.
A Life Cut Short
The investigation has now been taken over by the county’s homicide detectives. Nolan was the founder of East X East, specializing in beachwear and sunglasses, and she was also offering a Montauk-themed hoodie featuring the phrase, “I just love you in Montauk.” Notably, the yacht she was found on belonged to an investor in her business. At the time of her death, she had recently divorced her husband, Sam Ryan.
