G20 Pact Unveiled, “100% Consensus”, Including On Ukraine: 10 Points

At the G20 meeting, the New Delhi Declaration was adopted, which is seen as a major victory for the country. Reaching agreement among international groups has recently become difficult due to divisions over the Ukraine war and tackling climate change.

Here are the top 10 takeaways from this big story.

  1. The G20 will accelerate strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth and work towards implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

  2. “We will leave no one behind. We commend the efforts of the President of India to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda,” the resolution reads.

  3. The G20 reaffirmed a rules-based, non-discriminatory, fair, open, inclusive, fair, sustainable and transparent multilateral trading system, with the WTO at its core. “We support policies that make trade and investment the engine of growth and prosperity for all,” the resolution reads.

  4. The G20 will work with the private sector to build inclusive, sustainable and resilient global value chains and help developing countries move up the value chain.

  5. The G20 will address developing countries’ debt vulnerabilities and implement policies to “leave no OE behind.”

  6. Regarding the Ukraine war, participants reiterated the positions of each country and the contents of the United Nations Charter. Russia was not mentioned.

  7. The G20 is committed to strengthening food security and nutrition globally, in line with the Deccan High-Level Principles on Food Security and Nutrition.

  8. As part of achieving this, “we will encourage efforts to strengthen research collaboration on climate-resilient and nutritious grains such as millet, quinoa and sorghum, as well as other traditional crops including rice, wheat and maize. ” the document says.

  9. The G20 countries also resolved to continue to strengthen the global health system for pandemic prevention, preparedness and response, through strengthening collaboration between ministries of finance and health.

  10. The G20 promotes the equal and effective participation of women in the economic field, especially as decision-makers.
