Gabbard’s Accusations Against Comey
Tulsi Gabbard, the National Director, accused former FBI Director James Comey of effectively issuing a “hit” against President Trump after Comey shared a photo that was perceived as threatening.
On Instagram, Comey posted an image of a shell arranged into the number “8647,” which he later deleted.
Gabbard pointed out the implications of such threats, mentioning that when a president faces two assassination attempts and figures like Comey—whom some media outlets tout as a symbol of integrity—label the president a modern Nazi, it raises serious concerns.
Comey, frequently critical of Trump, faced backlash from Trump’s supporters after sharing the image, which many interpreted as inciting violence against the president.
There were also suggestions that the number “86” could imply a call for Trump, identified as the 47th president, to be removed.
Shortly after, Comey deleted the initial post and clarified that he never intended to imply violence. He expressed regret, stating he hadn’t connected the numbers to violence.
Homeland Security Secretary Christy Noem accused Comey of attempting to incite Trump’s assassination and mentioned that federal law enforcement is looking into the matter.
Gabbard expressed her concern for the president’s safety, reiterating that Comey should be held accountable for his actions.
Comey was dismissed during Trump’s first term and later supported Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race.
